December 28, 2011

At 21:15 hours the box alarm was transmitted for a residential fire at 371 Bethel Church Road with reports of the structure being fully involved. Rescue Engine 7 was first to arrive to find a single story wood frame dwelling with fire throughout and began defensive operations. Chief 1 arrived within seconds and established the "Bethel Church Command" on side Alpha. Engine 1 arrived next and advanced a back up line. Command transitioned to an offensive operation and Engine 1 began an interior attack knocking the bulk of the fire down. Assistant Chief 1 arrived and was assigned the Attack Group Supervisor while Engine 1 set up for rural water operations. Engine 12 was assigned RIT on arrival but was relieved by members of Company 7 personnel. Searches were completed with negative results and all crews worked extremely hard to complete the extensive overhaul. Company 1 units cleared in just under four hours.
