Engine And Assistant Chief 1 With Fire Showing From A First Due House

At 18:07 hours the box alarm was transmitted for a residential fire across from 501 Deacon Road. Reports were for a house across from this address with fire on a porch. Engine and Assistant Chief 1 responded on the run with a total of 6 volunteers. Assistant Chief 1 quickly located the correct address at 14 Miracle Valley Lane and reported a single story wood frame dwelling with fire showing from side Alpha. The chief then established the "Miracle Valley Command". Engine 1 arrived and laid a supply line at Deacon and Miracle Valley and advanced a hand line to the front door. Engine 1 quickly checked the interior to confirm that the fire was contained to the exterior of the structure and then extinguished. The primary and secondary searches proved negative. Engine 7 then arrived and secured the water supply then assisted company one units in checking for extension with Fredericksburg Ladder 1. Company one units operated on scene for about two hours before returning to service.
