At 17:30 hours eight Falmouth Volunteers conducted a high angle rescue drill with the new members that have joined the organization. The eight volunteers that participated reviewed basic rope skills and two rope lowering systems. About a year ago the station began utilizing the CMC Multiple Purpose Device which simplifies rope rescue lowering or hauling operations. These state of the art devices are safer and cost over $500.00 a piece. Members also went over using the new Petzel ID decent control device which allows members to personally control vertical movement on rope. The drill lasted for about two hours.
