At 16:00 hours Stafford E.C.C. dispatched units for a residential fire at 160 Brooke Road bringing the Engine, Rescue and Assistant Chief. Assistant Chief 1 arrived on scene seconds later to find a two story single family structure with nothing evident from side Alpha, Bravo and Delta and established the "Brooke Road Command". Engine 1 and Engine 7 arrived on scene together. Engine 7 advanced a hand line to the front door. While Engine 7 was getting a line on the ground Engine 1 dropped the "Detroit Load" on the Alpha side of the residence and secured the primary water supply. Rescue 1's crew made entry into the residence, found the fire on the second in a second floor bedroom, and extinguished it with a water can. After the fire was knocked down Rescue 1 completed a primary and secondary search with negative results. Engine and Rescue 1 then began opening up the structure by clearing the fire room window out completely and opening all the others. Engine 12's crew then set up a positive pressure fan at the front door to assist ventilation efforts. The scene was then scaled down to Company 1 and Company 7 units. Units remained on the scene for about an hour.
