| Falmouth Volunteers lead the efforts for the Fire and Rescue Department's participation at the Stafford County Sheriff's Office (in cooperation with Stafford County Public Schools) Annual Stafford County D.A.R.E. Day at Pratt Park from 0800-1400 hours. The annual event is for the 5th grade students who have successfully completed the nationally recognized D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program. This years event hosted over 2000 5th graders along with hundreds of parents, teachers, and community members. The event provided focus for our community's youth on making positive choices and becoming an active member of the community. Students enjoyed seeing a variety of career opportunities represented as well as local hobby groups they can become involved with to help them stay focused and drug and violence free. Thanks to all the Fire and Rescue Stations that participated to make this event a true success. |
