Just after lunch Stafford E.C.C. started receiving numerous reports of a house on fire at 75 Hunton Drive in the Leeland Station Subdivision. Engine and Rescue 1 responded with 7 volunteers and could see smoke from the station confirming they had a working fire. Falmouth units arrived on scene simultaneously as crews pulled two 1 3/4 inch hand lines and began to protect exposures while the wagon pipe was placed in service. The wind driven fire had pushed the fire throughout the structure and prevented units from mounting an aggressive interior attack. Initial operations of the crews saved further damage to the Bravo and Delta side exposures. Battalion 1 (Smith) held the "Hunton Command". A second alarm was requested due to the exposure problems but were never utilized. Units operated on the fire ground for over five hours. A Falmouth Volunteer was transported to the hospital with minor non-life threatening injuries. We wish him a speedy recovery.
