The Falmouth Volunteers regret to announce the passing of John “Johnny Mac” McDonald. Johnny is a Life Member and Past Chief of Stafford Volunteer Fire Department. Johnny is survived by his wife and two adult daughters. Johnny was a friend and mentor to many, he will be missed by all who knew him.

JOHN “MAC” MCDONALD Born on 08/31/1959 Departed on 05/30/2014 Resided in Stafford County, Virginia

John “Mac” McDonald, 54, of Stafford County, VA, a Navy Veteran and long-time fire official, passed away while on duty at the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Friday May 30, 2014.

John served as a Battalion Chief at Naval District Washington Fire and Emergency Services Central Division. During his extensive fire and rescue career he also served as Fire Chief of the Stafford Vol. Fire Department where he was a life member. Chief McDonald was a Charter Member and Vice President of Fire & Iron Motorcycle Club Station 161. He was the co-founder and co-inventor of The Beer Lasso Company, LLC.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa McDonald; daughters Katie M. Supples (Brian) and Ashley N. McDonald (Daniel Snow); father Charles H. McDonald; brothers Rod McDonald (Emily), David McDonald ( Kitty) and Kevin McDonald; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia A. McDonald.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 5 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, VA.

A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 6 at Mount Ararat Baptist Church, Stafford, VA. Interment with Honors will follow at 2 p.m. at Quantico National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Central Virginia Burn Camp, 1960 Candlewyck Drive, Charlottesville, VA. 22901 and/or the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, 4940 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD. 21224.
