At 21:11 hours the Box Alarm was transmitted for 1089 Wicklow Drive bringing Engine and Rescue 1 with a total of 6 Volunteers. Fredericksburg Communications were receiving supplements from Fredericksburg Police of fire showing and possibly one female trapped in Apartment 103. Engine 1 (dispatched as the Third Due Engine Co.) arrived first after laying a line from the hydrant to find a 3 Story Garden Apartment with smoke showing from the first floor. Engine 1's crew stretched the Bumper line to the Charlie Side and confirmed a working fire in Apartment 103. Shortly after Rescue 1 arrived along with Fredericksburg units and worked with Fredericksburg Ladder 1 completing searches and opening up for the Engine Companies. Crews made quick work of the fire before scaling the assignment back to Engine 1, Fredericksburg Engine 1, and Fredericksburg Ladder 1. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 hour assisting the Fire Marshal and cleaning up before returning to service.
