Rescue Squad 1 With Fire Showing From A Comapny 12 House

While the Falmouth Volunteers were Completing some spring maintenance on Rescue 1 the box alarm was transmitted for a residential fire on Old Banks Road in Company 12's first due bringing the Rescue Squad second arriving on the run. While enroute the Stafford E.C.C advised that they were receiving reports of smoke and fire showing from multiple windows. Crews quickly noticed a large column of black smoke above the tree line while enroute confirming it was going to be a working fire. Battalion Chief 1 was first to arrive to find a single story wood frame dwelling with fire through the roof. Engine 12 arrived next and deployed a 2 1/2 to side alpha to begin defensive operations. Rescue 1 then arrived and was assigned to deploy a second hand line. Engine 12 and Rescue 1 then transitioned to an aggressive interior attack. With fire conditions throughout the bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down. Fredericksburg ladder 1 and completed the primary searches and assisted crew opening up. Engine 4 arrived and deployed an additional hand line to assist with extinguishing the remaining hot spots. Engine 9 then arrived and also assisted crews with opening up. Once the fire was out all units rotated to assist with overhaul operations. Rescue Squad 1 operated on scene for approximately three hours before returning to service.
