MSU-1 and Boat 1 were alerted for a water rescue in the area of Willow Landing Boat Club. Operations Deputy Chief was the first to arrive to find two occupants that were stranded on their boat approximately 500 yards from shore. While the tides were going out with strong winds caused the river to become a creek. With no water and the significant amount of mud rescuers were unable to launch a boat or make contact by foot. With no options left to make access to the occupant the Operations Deputy Chief Requested for U.S Park Police helicopter to conduct a hoist operation. The U.S Park Police Helicopter quickly arrived and completed the hoist operation by dropping a basket to the occupants hoisting them back up to the helo. U.S Park Police then lowered the occupants onto the shore where tey were turned over to waiting ems.
