First Due House

On the morning of at 0117 hours Engine 1 was alerted for the report of a house on fire in the first due (625 Lancaster Street). Less than 2 minutes later, the Engine arrived securing a hydrant and stretching the 400 to side Alpha with fire showing from a 2 story, Wood Frame, SFD attic area. Upon entry to the interior E1 was faced with a large volume of fire consuming the entire attic. After opening up to gain access to the fire, an attic ladder was placed to make entry into the space involved. Captain 1 had Division 2 until the arrival of Chief 1. Fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of the second due engine. Units overhauled and were back in service within 2 hours.
