At 17:00 hours the Rescue Company was alerted for an auto accident with reported entrapment in the area of the 1400 Block of Truslow Road. The County Fire Chief was first to arrive to find a single vehicle into a tree with one trapped. Quint 12 and Battalion 1 arrived next and deployed a protection hand-line and stabilized the vehicle. Once the stabilization was complete the crew from Quint 12 removed the driver side door. Once the door was removed crews noticed the patients legs were pinned between the dash and floor board. Rescue 1 then arrived and spread the dash away from the patients left leg that was entangled in the floor board and brake pedal. The crew from Rescue Squad 1 then placed the spreader under the steering column to lift it off the patients legs. A second spreader was placed in the center floor board to lift the remaining dash off the patients right leg which completed the extrication. The patient was then transported to Mary Washington hospital with minor injuries.
