At 18:53 hours Stafford E.C.C. received a call from a residence on Spring Valley Drive reporting a house on fire to the rear of their home. Engine, Wagon, Rescue, Chief, and Chief 1-2 checked up with 14 men and began the task of trying to pinpoint the location. After a few moments communications called back and advised the house may be on Wythe Court. Chief 1-2 arrived first at 1101 Wythe Ct. and stated he had a 2 story woodframe with smoke showing from Side Charlie. Wagon 1 arrived next, took a hoseline through the front door and found the fire. Rescue and Chief 1 arrived shortly there after. Chief 1 took the "Wythe Ct. Command" while the Rescue crew began searching which proved negative. The fire was knocked down quickly and Command held Falmouth units along with Truck 2. During the overhaul phase another first -due house fire was dispatched at 104 Greenway Street. Engine 1 responded from the scene and arrived to find mulch burning with minor extension to the front porch. District 1 (Ennis) also took in that box and held Engine 1 only. On a side note, the home on Wythe Ct. was owned by a local firefighter so our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
