May 10, 2007

Shortly after lunch, Stafford E.C.C. received a call for a person that fell into a well at 515 Forbes Street in Falmouth. Rescue and Chief 1 responded with 6 men. A Confined Space Rescue assignment was requested from Fredericksburg F.D. while enroute. Rescue 1 arrived first to find an alert male subject holding on to the backside of a ladder that was placed in the well. The subject was hanging about 35 feet from the waterline and about 5 feet from the opening. District 1 arrived and took the "Forbes Command". Chief 1 was the "Rescue Group Supervisor" and directed crews to start the rescue. The victim was secured to a rope system and encouraged to self rescue. The subject was removed in 10 minutes and units returned to service at 13:29 hours.

Units: R-1, M-11, Chief 1, District 1 (Command), DC32, DC41
