Just before 2:00am, Stafford E.C.C. received a call for a house on fire on Kellogg Mill Road near Mintleaf Street. The box alarm was transmitted bringing Engine, Rescue, and Car 1 with 9 volunteers. Engine 4 arrived on scene, gave the correct address of 449 Kellogg Mill Road, and laid a supply line at the end of the driveway. Engine 4's officer gave his size-up with a barn fully involved with an exposure problem on side Charlie. Engine 4's crew placed the leader line in operation around back to protect the exposure. Division Chief 32 arrived and established the "Kellogg Mill Road Command". Engine 2 picked up Engine 4's supply line and started setting up for drafting operations. Engine 2's crew pulled another line while the officer was given the "Attack Group Leader" position. Engine and Rescue 1 arrived third due. The engine crew pulled a third line while the driver took the engine to Mt. View Station 4 to be the fill site pumper. Due to the amount of hay bails (3000+ bails) command requested a bulldozer from the Virginia Department of Forestry. All units worked into the night breaking apart bails of hay and extinguishing the fire that presented itself. Falmouth units cleared at 06:51 hours.
