January 1, 2008

At 13:05 hours, Stafford E.C.C. dispatched Wagon-1 and Medic 5-2 for a motorcycle vs. a tree at Hickory Ridge Drive and Morton Road. Chief-1 added to the call and arrived first to find one patient that conditions warranted a medivac helicopter. Medic 5-2 arrived and prepared the patient for transport while Wagon-1 handled the helispot for Life Evac 2. The patient was turned over to the Life Evac crew and flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Units cleared at 13:42 Hours.

The day remained relative calm, so Falmouth Volunteers took an opportunity to clean up the station.

As crews took a seat at one of the many local eateries the Wagon and Medic were dispatched for a vehicle crash at 17:56 Hours in the City of Fredericksburg at Cowan Blvd and Jefferson Davis Hwy. Enroute Wagon-1 received information from Fredericksburg's E.C.C. that there was one trapped. Chief 1 and Rescue 1 added to the call.

Wagon-1 arrived onscene with Fredericksburg unit's onsite accessing a four-vehicle crash with one trapped and other patients in need of medical services. Co. 1 units were tasked with removing the one patient from a pickup truck. Wagon-1's crew provided a protection line, assisted with EMS Care while the Rescue deployed the Paratech Struts to complete stabilization of the Ford pickup truck with the trapped patient and a Ranger pickup truck that was resting on the engine compartment of Ford truck. The roof was flapped to gain access to the patient. The one patient was removed in under 15 minutes and transported by Ambulance 7-3's crew. Wagon-1 and Chief-1 cleared at 18:29 hours to respond to a reported Residential Box in White Oak that resulted in a malfunctioning furnace. Rescue-1 cleared at 19:22 Hours.
