At 20:22 hours, Stafford E.C.C. dispatched Wagon 1 for a smoke investigation in the area of Warrenton Road and Melcher's Drive. As the Wagon started their response Stafford E.C.C. upgraded the call to a house on fire in the 200 block of Warrenton Road. Wagon 1 arrived on the scene with a single story wood frame house with fire from the Bravo and Delta sides. This just happened to be the same vacant house that the Falmouth Volunteers ran a few weeks prior for same thing so the choice was made by the officer on Rescue 1 that the attack would be from a defensive position. Engine 7 arrived and secured the water supply. Chief 7 arrived and established the "Warrenton Road Command". District 1 had the "Attack Group" and Chief 1 assumed the safety officer duties. Wagon 1, Wagon 2, Engine 7, and Rescue 1 pulled lines and attacked the fire from all sides. Units remained on scene for 2 hours hitting hot spots and helping the Fire Marshal's Office with their investigation.
