November 11, 2008

A few minutes after 7 p.m., duty crew personnel had just finished their evening apparatus and equipment checks when Engine-1 was alerted to the City of Fredericksburg for a residential structure fire at 1606 Princess Anne Street. Engine-1 arrived behind Fredericksburg Tower-1 to find a two story single family dwelling with an active fire on the second floor. Fredericksburg Tower-1 was on the only unit on scene and they had dropped supply line and advanced a handline to the fire floor prior to Engine-1's arrival. Engine-1's crew pulled a back-up line and advanced it to the second floor assisted with extinguishment, primary searches, ventilation, and overhaul.

Medic-11 was added to the incident due to two civilian injuries onscene. Medic-11 transported one occupant to a local medical facility. Units returned to service in just over an hour.

Units: Engine-1, Medic-11, Chief-1
