| Bring New, Unwrapped Toys to Any Local Fire/Rescue Station
Calling all toys! All Stafford County Fire/Rescue Departments have partnered with the other fire departments in the National Capital Region to support the U.S. Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program.
From December 3, 2008 through December 23, 2008 fire fighters and EMS personnel will collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to children in need.
Please bring new, unwrapped toys to:
*Falmouth Volunteer Fire/Rescue Station
250 Butler Road (Next to the YMCA)
Falmouth, VA
OR
*Any fire/rescue station in Stafford County.
Last year, the region's fire departments collected close to 100,000 toys (valued at approximately $1 million).
The Toys for Tots program began in 1947 when Major Bill Hendricks, USMCR and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to "deliver a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders."
