By Falmouth Volunteers
March 9, 2009

At 02:38 hours the Engine crew were alerted to assist the City of Fredericksburg for the reported house on fire in the 1900 block of Charles Street in downtown. Fredericksburg Fire units arrived on scene and found a two story frame dwelling with fire showing. Fredericksburg BC-1 (Altman) arrived, established the "Charles Street Command", and advised the operation would be defensive. Engine 1 quickly arrived on scene and supplied Fredericksburg Ladder 1 with water for the ladderpipe operation. The Engine crew also advanced an attackline to help knock down the fire. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down the crew started overhaul operations while extinguishing any hot spots that were visible. Falmouth units cleared the scene in just under two hours.

Units: E-1
