As Wagon 1 was preparing to clear from a gas leak in England Run, a Stafford Schoolbus driver was calling in a house fire at 156 Musante Lane. Knowing that a Falmouth member's family lives on that street Wagon 1 responded with 4 men. Truck 2 arrived first and reported a working fire in a 1 story, woodframe house. Engine 2 came in next, advanced an attackline, and began extinguishment. EM-4 (Jett) arrived and established the "Musante Lane Command". Once Wagon 1 arrived the officer was assigned the attack group leader and the crew advanced a second 200' 1.75" attackline to back-up Engine 2. Both lineman saw alot of work and the fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes. Overhaul was extensive due to hidden areas inside the home and command held all units for about 3 hours to mop up. This was the second time this year a fire struck a member of the fire service family and thankfully no one was injured in this tragic event.
While on the above run, Rescue 1 with 4 men was committed on the gas leak in England Run but cleared up to run a motor-vehicle accident overturned on Warrenton Road at Sanford Drive and another small fire in an apartment building at 112 White Pine Circle in North Stafford. The day ended with 18 runs for the station.
