While lunch time was approaching, Stafford E.C.C. alerted Falmouth units for a attempted suicide at the Falmouth Bridge. Engine 1 arrived on the bridge with the Sheriff's Office in minutes to confirm one subject had jumped off bridge and landed in the middle of an island. Marine Support Unit 1 responded to the Historic Port of Falmouth Waterfront Park and placed two swiftwater technicians in the water to assist rescuers from Fredericksburg with packaging the patient. Once completed the crews safely removed the victim to shore. Luckily the subject was alert when rescue personnel got to him. The patient was transported to Mary Washington Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Falmouth units cleared the scene in 45 minutes.
