On October 25, the Falmouth Volunteers stepped up one more time for the community. This time it was a charity softball tournament for Alysa Dye. She suffers from Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD). There is no cure for this disease, at this time, only research involving bone marrow transplant. Normally children with this disease do not live past the age of five.
After the regular season of games was coming to an end, Falmouth Volunteers were asked to participate. There was a need for another team to complete the bracket for the tournament. The team made it to the championship game. They also played extra by picking up a co-ed game. It was a long day of softball, but it went to a good cause.
