At 01:08 hours Rescue Squad 1 was alerted for a auto accident overturned with possible entrapment on I-95 South at the 137.3 mile marker. Engine 2 and Truck 2 arrived first to find one vehicle on its side with one trapped and began stabilizing the vehicle. Chief 2 arrived and established the "I-95 Command". Rescue 1 took position and placed a second Paratech Rescue strut while utilizing the winch to complete the same side stabilization effort. Rescue 1 and Company 2 units then began removing the roof to gain access to the patient. After the roof was removed crews quickly found that the subject's lower extremities were pinned under the floor board and dash. Crews then began cutting and spreading to free the patient. Engine 12 deployed a handline for fire protection. Crews on scene worked together to extricate the patient within 20 minutes. Rescue 1 returned to service 45 minutes after arrival.
