At 07:47 hours Rescue 1 was dispatched to Interstate 95 North at the Rappahannock River Bridge. Battalion Chief 1 arrived on scene and confirmed one patient pinned in a box truck. Engine 12 arrived and stretched a handline for protection. Once Rescue 1 arrived they began stabilization and prepared the AMKUS system for extrication of the patient. Rescue 1's crew removed the door and performed a dash lift to free the patient's legs. The patient was packaged and transported to hospital with Medic 11. Rescue 1 returned to service at 08:14 hours.
