At 20:38 hours Stafford E.C.C. received a report of a house on fire at 15 Jefferson Street in the Ferry Farms section of Falmouth. Chief 1 arrived to find a two story wood frame home with smoke on the second floor and established the "Jefferson Street Command". Engine 1 secured a water supply and deployed a 1.75" attackline to the second floor. Engine 1 located a bedroom on fire in the Alpha/ Delta quadrant and extinguished the same. One occupant was located in the front yard on arrival and searches of the remainder of home proved negative. Medic 11 evaluated the lone occupant and a refusal was obtained. The occupant also refused the services of the Red Cross. Overhaul was completed and Fire Marshal 4 conducted his investigation. The investigation concluded that an unattended heating pad was the cause and damage was assesed at $50,000.00.
