By Falmouth Volunteers
November 15, 2012

While Engine 1 was returning from a gas leak in the city, Stafford E.C.C. dispatched a residential structure fire at 141 Hulls Chapel Road. Quint 12 arrived to find a single story wood frame home with smoke showing. Quint 12 advanced a line into Side A, just as Engine 1 was picking up their supply line. Engine 1's crew pulled the backup line from the quint to Side Charlie to access the crawl space. Battalion 1 established the command. Chief 1 arrived and was assigned Division 1, with Quint 12 & Truck 2. The engine officer advised command that they had active fire in the crawl space by the floor furnace. Division 1 opened up the walls in that area and found the fire was coming up from the crawl space. Engine 1 quickly got a line in place in the crawl space and knocked the fire down while Division 1 knocked down fire in the walls. Crews worked on scene for 1 ½ hours and kept the fire confined to the area of origin in the structure.
