October 21, 2006

A large two story home located at 9 Winning Colors Road in the Seven Lakes Section of Mt. View erupted into flames in the October night sky. Stafford E.C.C. received numerous reports at 22:49 hours of a house on fire bringing the Wagon and Rescue with 8 men. Wagon 4 (Mt. View) arrived first and reported a two story home with fire showing from an attached garage with extension into the house. Wagon 4 advised they were advancing an attackline through the front door and encountered fire conditions. Chief 2-1 (McDonald) arrived next and took the "Winning Colors Command". Rescue 1 arrived 5th and proceeded inside to conduct searches while the Wagon crew ran the last line left on Wagon 4 to the second floor and encountered a large volume of fire which they began putting a knock on. The Rescue crew advised Command that the searches on the first and second floor were negative. They then proceeded to quadrant B and found a 2 1/2" line which had a single fireman from Wagon 4 knocking the fire in the garage so the crew assisted this member with extinguishing before having to come out for air. Falmouth units operated until the order was given to back out and re-deploy. At this point the officer on Rescue 1 (Smith) was given Division 2 and put his crews to work finishing up the deep seated hot spots. All companies on this fire did a great job and prevented the loss of this large home by working together. Falmouth units were released in just under 4 hours but worked till 04:00 hours cleaning equipment.

Hey 2...We got a secret code too.
